The SASS Foundation, in its 29th year, remains focused in its fight against cancer. The SASS Foundation was formed for the purpose of furthering research and education. Cancer is clearly a genetic disease, but we also appreciate that epigenetic changes in how genes are expressed contribute to the uncontrolled growth of cancer cells,” says Dr.Vakoc. “By enabling us to understand the mechanism behind effective anti-leukemia drugs, our findings should allow us to design better therapeutics that will overcome drug resistanc and be as safe as possible. We are grateful to The SASS Foundation to enable us to pursue this innovative research.”
